Krishnapatnam Port Golden Eagles Golf Championship 2016 greeted with huge success

A bit of a delayed post, but a few days back I was invited to Golden Eagles Golf Championship 2016 by Krishnapatnam Port Company Limited at Hyderabad Golf Club in Hyderabad.

Set amongst the Golconda Fort complex, the Hyderabad Golf Club – an 18 hole, 6057 yard, Par 71 layout, well maintained golf course, with water bodies and fast greens along with excellent training facilities such as a Golf Academy, Driving Range, and a modern club house with F & B, pro-shop and club fitting facilities.

Hosted annually, this event attracts the best corporate golfers from the senior leadership team of more than 200 companies across 12 countries as participants and 2016 was no exception.

The Golden Eagles Golf Championship is promoted by Krishnapatnam, the country’s largest all-weather, deep water port on the east-coast of India.

The first season of Golden Eagles Golf Championship was held at the Oxford Golf and Country Club, Pune, was hugely cheered across the industry and witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 corporate golfers (CXO level) representing 12 countries.

This year, the first two legs of the tournament were held at Prestige Golfshire near Nandi Hills in Bangalore and Oxford Golf Country Club in Pune respectively.

I’ve been invited as part of blogging and social media team to cover the last and final leg at Hyderabad Golf Club in Hyderabad.

Popular actor, writer and film producer R. Madhavan on the occasion said, “As an actor you are always exposed to a lot of action on the sets but golf is just the opposite where one is just left with his devices ahead of the shot. It is one game I want to try and see how it fits into my personality. I enjoy the sport a lot, so much so that I have encouraged my whole family to play golf and we now indulge in family outings to enjoy the game.”

Commenting on the occasion Mr. C Sasidhar – MD Krishnapatnam Port Company Limited said “Krishnapatnam Port has always created benchmarks and we as a company have many firsts to our credit in the maritime industry. We have always believed in doing things with a desired differentiation and our golf championship is one among those. Apart from being India’s first ocean-linked golf property Krishnapatnam Port has a beautiful sea and is a great location for a clean and green golf course. We aim to showcase it as an excellent platform to network, and nurture great business associations while encouraging golf as an emerging sport in the country. Happy Golfing!”

This was my first time watching a golf tournament live, it’s a fun experience and saw many of the top players and celebrities.
